Terms of use

For RadBuddy DEXAhelper and RadBuddy Highlighter, the two apps given out on this site. Version 2026-10-10, of 10 October 2026. You agree to them on your account page; the agreement is recorded with its time, and you can withdraw it there.

A prototype, by approval

DEXAhelper and Highlighter are prototypes: software the author wrote to see whether it can be useful, and gives to accounts the author approves so that they can try it for themselves on their own workstation. They are not products and are not for sale; they have not been validated, and they are not part of any study; the license is issued to your account and is not to be passed on. They are not made, endorsed or supported by the maker of any viewer, scanner or workstation software. They work by looking at what is on your screen as it is today, so a change to that software can change or break them without notice.

Not cleared, not validated

Neither app has been cleared or approved by any regulator, and neither has been validated. They are handed out for testing: for you to see what they do on your own workstation, with your own studies, while you read exactly as you always have. Every study is read by you, independently and in full, and the conclusions in your report are your own; nothing either app shows or writes is to be relied on in reaching them. What DEXAhelper writes is not a report until you have checked it; what Highlighter marks is not a diagnosis, and what it leaves unmarked is not a negative.

DEXAhelper writes report text from the numbers on a bone density results screen; Highlighter marks regions of the image already on your screen and shows scores for a set of findings. They never change image data or reports, but any mark, score, value or sentence can be wrong or missing, and so can the absence of one. Before interpreting or reporting, you remain responsible for the full read of the study, for confirming the right patient, study, side, orientation and display settings, for checking every value against the screen, and for using your viewer's and your scanner's own tools whenever in doubt.

Use at your own risk

You use them at your own risk. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE AUTHOR AND CONTRIBUTORS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, LOSS, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE APPS OR THEIR USE OR INABILITY TO BE USED, INCLUDING ANY MISSED, DELAYED OR INCORRECT INTERPRETATION AND ANY INCORRECT VALUE OR SENTENCE IN A REPORT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

No obligations

The author owes no one support, maintenance, updates, fixes, training, answers or availability, and may change or stop either app, this site, an approval or the issuing of licenses at any time. Licenses expire on their own and are renewed only while your account is approved. Nothing here creates a contract, service agreement or duty of any kind.

Your data and your practice's policies

Nothing about a patient leaves your computer. The apps keep no patient names, identifiers, images or results, and never send anything: no image, frame, result, text or name, to this site or anywhere else. The app itself cannot reach the network: the block is in its code, and the two things done online, below, each run in a separate process of their own. Settings and the license file stay in the app's folder, and deleting the folder removes them.

Either app goes online for two things only. The update check, started by you in its Settings, fetches the newer version from this site. The license renewal asks this site for a fresh license about once a week, before the one it has runs out; Renew automatically in its Settings turns that off. Each request identifies your account through the license on that computer, nothing else. This site keeps your email address, your requests and approvals, your agreement to these terms with its time, and a record of each download handed out and each license issued; see the privacy page.

Using either app must follow your practice's IT, security and privacy policies, including HIPAA. If they don't allow it, don't use it: delete the app's folder.

Agreement

You agree to these terms with the button on your account page; the time and the version you agreed to are recorded. You can withdraw your agreement there at any time. Withdrawing ends your download access and the issuing of licenses for both apps; a license already on a computer is not renewed and runs out on its own at the end of its term, which the account page states. Agreeing again restores both. When the terms change, the account page asks you to agree to the new version before anything more is handed out.
